Assignment #7

Based on what I've read, there are some parts in her SONA in which the President did mention something related to HRM.
And these are the ff.

1. The President recalled that during her SONA last 2001, she launched job oppotunities for 20,000 out of school youths and now, she was proud to say that over 20,000 were employed by OYSTER all over the nation. It is somewhat related to HRM because the out of school youths all over the Philippines that were mentioned and were claimed to have been given jobs became part of the workforce and the most valuable asset of a certain company. Furthermore, increasing employment rate is always good for a country like ours.

2. The President also mentioned that 1.7 million graduated from taking up technical and vocational courses last 2007 alone. This part I think helped the small companies not be worried about training people because of the ladderized curriculum that teaches practical knowledge and on the job training that focuses on certain skills on welding and other technical and vocational courses. This is a very good opportunity for those people who could not afford to take up degree courses and can still help their families, have a job and be useful to the community.

3. The President even mentioned that private employers funded two increases in SSS benefits since 2005 and GSIS's salary loan availaments have increased, the highest of any system public or private.I believe that this is a very important development for the employees both private and public and the increase in benefits is just right. Basing on the present situation, that prices of goods and basic commodities have gone up, I believe it's about time and it is just right for them to help their employees to cope up during this crisis.

Business organizations should really help their employees in any means. Because if they will not, the service of their employees will not satisfy the needs of their customers. ^^

hi, tina!!! btw, thanks for the comment... i really appreciate it. :)

PGMA's project OYSTER was indeed a big help to the out of school youth. at least, they would also have the same chances of being employed like us, who are going to school. job opportunities should be open to everyone.

about the ladderized education, although i still prefer the 4-5-year courses, really help a lot. not only will students graduate early but they would also be able to take up other fields that they might need in their jobs. somehow, this ladderized education system easily replenishes our almost depleted workforce because it is able to produce graduates within a short period of time. :)

also, i agree that salary increases are necessary because of the never-ending price hike of basic commodities. heck, even those that don't need gasoline in them have also gone up! hehehe. so, salary increases are but a small compensation to the human resources who are struggling to survive...

hehehe.

*i'd appreciate your comments, too...*
