Journal Prompt #2

Module 3
Last Tuesday, the "sharers for the day" presented the 3rd Module for our subject HRM.
Their report, was all about the Human Resources in the Organization .
As expected, I learned a lot of things, to wit:

The Organization structure of the HRD.(theory based)
I learned these terms...ΓΌ
weight of the organization-the # of departments in an organization
height of the organization- the # of levels in an organization

The HRMO organizational Structure of their adopted institution
(City Government Office of Davao City)

HRMO Functions & Composition of the CGOD
I learned that even within the HRMO of CGOD, there are still different subdivisions. These are the ff.
♣ Personnel Selection & Transaction Division
♣ Personnel Planning and Management Division
♣ Human Resource Development Division
♣ Personnel Benefits and Welfare Division
♣ Administrative Division

Staff qualifications in the HR department and CGOD as a whole.

Comment on their presentation:
I was impressed by their visual presentation because they got away from the box by using Macromedia Flash Player rather than the usual powerpoint presentation which was used by the past reporters. They also showed not only pictures but even a video of their actual interview which I believe was worth an effort to make and strengthen the validity of the information they shared to us.
I also commend there choice of company which is the City Government Office of Davao because their institution was well equip with the information needed as an application for their topic.

..and they gave away LOLLIPOPS! hehehe..
All in all, it was a good presentation.

Module 4

Just this morning, the 4th group of presentors discussed fourth Module which is entitled JOB ORGANIZATION and INFORMATION. Their featured company is the LYR Marketing.

Here are some points that I have learned form their presentation:

The difference between Job Analysis, Job description and Job specification.

As far as I could remember,

Job Analysis is where selected qualified experts about a certain job is gathered to brainstorm about the most effective Job description for a certain job.

Job Description - is a written statement that defines the duties, relationship and results expected from an employee. This is the product of the Job Analysis.

Job Specification - defines the qualifications needed for a certain job. Commonly found in the Job description.

Components of a well-designed Job description

Preparing a Job description and a Job Specification

Benefits derived by an organization from a complete Job Description, Job Specification, Job Design and Job evaluation.

I also learned (courtesy of Sir G) about the Provision in the Labor Code of our Constitution called the EEO or the Equal Employment Opportunity

that states that all people should have equal chances of being hired.
I also learned that posting Job ads that specifies Gender and those who requires pleasing personality is against the law because it violates the EEO.

Comment on their presentation:
The thing I like about their presentation is that I really learned a lot because the theories was very well explained and the reporters were jolly which made their presentation interesting .*claps* nyahahaha S.
(^_^) pasensya na sa wrong grammar
