In today’s modern age, where technology has become a lot more accessible compared to a few decades before, the reasons for using technology hasn’t really changed that much. Technology is being used and is constantly evolving primarily to make our lives easier. For the most part, technology has provided us with better convenience in our lifestyle. Take communication technology for instance. Using a mobile phone is far more convenient because of its portability and convenience compared to using wired telephone which is bulky and static. It has become a trend for most gadgets nowadays to become smaller but with jam-packed functionalities just like its other bigger counterpart. E-commerce technology is another example that also brought convenience to improve our shopping experience.

Aside from convenience, technology has also allowed us to save important resources such as time and money. Efficiency is also another reason why we use technology. Convenience and efficiency generally go hand-in-hand that’s why most people patronize technology. From using snail mail that would take months before it arrive, technology advancement like E-mail has made messaging a lot faster and more interactive. Technology is used to automate activities to use time and resources more efficiently.

Due to the influence of popular media such as television programs, movies and the internet, the use of technology has reached a new perspective in the modern age. Aside from convenience and efficiency, the use of the latest technology has also become a new status symbol in our community. People with money have more opportunity to acquire technology, which enables them to acquire even more wealth. The trendiness of using technology has also emerged to be one of the reasons why we use technology.

The technological trends and changes are brought about by the demand of the people themselves. In my opinion, technological change is brought about by the following factors:
1.) The human need to improve the current state and;
2.) The human passion to create something desirable.
The constant need for improvement and the nature of discontentment of humans are the primary reasons why their is technological advancement. These are the core driving force for technology advancement and future innovation.

Technology has indeed brought many benefits to our community. It has changed our lifestyles into something more convenient, efficient and trendy. It is up to us to use it to our advantage and make the world we live in a better place than it is before.
